General FAQ

My Approach

What defines your therapeutic method?

I provide evidence-based care that is both flexible and partner-oriented. By leveraging scientifically validated frameworks, I customize every session to align with your specific objectives and background. While my foundational expertise lies in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and its specialized branches like ACT and CPT, I also integrate components of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and humanistic, person-centered philosophies.

Can I expect direct advice?

Rather than telling you what to do, I help you better understand patterns, identify barriers, and develop skills that allow you to make informed decisions aligned with your values. Therapy is a collaborative process rather than directive advice-giving.

What is the typical timeframe?

Therapy can stay active as long as it serves your growth. While some reach their targets through brief, solution-focused tracks, others delve into more comprehensive work for deep-seated patterns. Many structured CBT plans are designed around an initial twelve-session framework to ensure measurable progress.

Evidence & Professionalism

Is my treatment research-based?

Yes. My clinical work is grounded in current psychological science and evidence-based practice. This means integrating the best available research with clinical expertise while considering your individual preferences, experiences, and goals.

Why choose therapy with a psychologist over a supportive conversation?

Therapy is more than supportive conversation. Psychological treatment involves careful assessment, formulation of difficulties, application of evidence-based interventions, and ongoing evaluation of progress. The goal is not only to feel heard, but also to facilitate meaningful and lasting change.

What sets this clinical space apart?

With specialized training bridging both forensic and clinical psychology, I bring a unique depth to understanding complex behaviors and high-stakes contexts. My practice balances rigorous scientific standards with a compassionate, ethical dedication to every individual’s internal narrative.

Practical Questions

How secure is my personal information?

Your privacy is protected by strict ethical guidelines. However, specific legal situations—such as immediate threats to safety, suspected abuse of vulnerable individuals, or court subpoenas—may require a breach of this confidentiality. We will review these boundaries in detail during our first meeting's consent process.

What is the meeting frequency?

Standard care usually begins with weekly or every-other-week appointments. This rhythm can be modified as you reach specific milestones or as your schedule requires.

What happens if we aren't a match?

The connection between us is important for success. Our initial meeting is a test of that compatibility. If it becomes clear that my style or specialization doesn't meet your current requirements, I will attempt to refer you to a colleague who is a better fit for your journey.
